The Friends of West Mersea Parish Church Annual General Meeting took place at 7.30 pm on Monday 26th October 2015 at the Parish Church Hall and was attended by some 30 members.
The Minutes of last year’s AGM were approved and the members of the Committee having expressed a willingness to continue and there being no additional people offering to join were duly re-elected.
The Chairman John May gave a report on the year’s activities noting the completion of a full programme of fundraising events which had raised over £12,000 for the charity’s funds. The group had also funded nearly £8,000 of maintenance and improvements works at the Church. He thanked all the Committee members and other helpers who had helped with the organisation and planning of the Friends’ many activities during the year.
Treasurer Richard Taylor presented the Income and Expenditure report for the year to 30th June giving details of sums raised from the various events held and funds paid out for supported projects and pointed out that since its launch in 2011 The Friends had now raised over £50,000 for their cause.
Our Administrator Gill Laver then outlined the provisional programme of fundraising events for the coming year.
The date of the next Annual General Meeting was set for 17th October 1916 and there being no further business the meeting closed at about 8.30 pm with attendees remaining for a drink and light refreshments.
