Christmas Concerts 2015

Compère Pete Easy summed up our 2015 Christmas Concert succinctly on Tuesday night, paraphrasing MasterChef’s Greg Wallace’s famous phrase, “Singing doesn’t get better than that!”

There were three choirs, soloists, poetry readers, some ‘merry’ wassailers, Christmas crackers, silly hats and scrummy snacks and drinks. It was a joyous feast of music and song for Christmas, a coming together of friends and neighbours and the community and a chance to appreciate this beautiful historic building which has been witness to community gatherings like ours throughout so many centuries before us.

Afterwards children, ‘oldies’, the young and the ‘young at heart’ all emerged into the damp December evening with a warm Christmas glow. Magical.

All profits go to support the work of The Friends in maintaining our historic church. Thanks to all the people who made this happen, especially to producer Gill Laver and Choir leader and founder of Vocalise Caroline Laver.

The concert was repeated on Wednesday night.

A few pictures and some short video clips appear below.
