Sid Bolan Big Band

The Sid Bolan Big Band was formed over 30 years ago in Basildon, Essex.  Sid Bolan is an anagram of Basildon! Remember the music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and Duke Ellington? Well, the Sid Bolan Big Band recreates the sounds of those and other great swing bands.  Our singers perform songs from the songbooks of such great singers as Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald to name but a few.

The spread of music we play is wide and varied. From traditional Big Band music to ballroom, latin and other modern dance music. The band also includes a selection of more modern music so to cater for all occasions.

Big Band Music is still very active across the world and we are lucky that composers, arrangers and big stars are still actively involved in this genre of music.  Artists such as Michael Buble, Gordon Goodwin, Robbie Williams for example perform this music opening it to younger generations to enjoy.
